Emirates Airlines
The world’s eighth largest airline, Emirates Airlines is based in Dubai, capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Since the company was founded in’85, it has grown to serve 92 destinations in 55 countries around the world. Although it does not offer domestic service, Emirates is nonetheless the leading air carrier of the Middle East and enjoys large market share in Southeast Asia. Emirates Airlines is one of only six carriers in the world to operate a fleet consisting entirely of wide-body aircraft built by Boeing and Airbus.
The Dubai government is the founder and sole owner of Emirates Airlines, which has recorded a profit every year except for one since its founding. Emirates Airlines? growth has never fallen below 20 percent a year. In its first 11 years, it doubled in size every 3.5 years, and has every four years since. The airline?s lean workforce puts it on the equivalent with a low cost carrier. Emirates Airlines is a member of the Arab Air Carriers Organization, a regional airline trade organization of Arab airlines established in’65 by the Arab League. Its mission is to promote cooperation, quality and safety standards among the Arab airlines. Any carrier based in one of the states that belong to the Arab League may join the organization.
Emirates Airlines is owned and operated by the Dubai government, but the government does not invest money into the airline, nor does the government meddle in airline affairs, allowing the airline to function as an independent company. This arrangement seems to work well for both the airline and the government, as the airline is consistently profitable and continues to grow.
Emirates Airlines also operates Emirates SkyCargo. This airline is a cargo carrier. It is based at Dubai International Airport and functions like a passenger airline. The SkyCargo division operates nine aircraft, and Emirates SkyCargo also utilizes the cargo capacity of the passenger fleet.
Emirates became only the second operator of the Airbus A380 when their first aircraft was delivered in July 2008. The Airbus A380 flies on these routes: Dubai-New York JFK, Dubai-London Heathrow, and Dubai-Sydney-Auckland.
Although Emirates’ only hub is at Dubai International Airport, it flies to over 100 destinations in 56 countries. The company has agreements with the aviation authorities in Australia and Singapore that allow it to fly from their countries to even farther-flung destinations around the world.
Frequent fliers enjoy the benefits of Skywards, allowing them to earn or spend frequent flier miles on Emirates or any of its Skywards partners, including Korean Air, Japan Airlines, United, South African Airways, Jet Airways, Continental, Kingfisher Airlines, and Virgin Blue.
Emirates also has a stake in Dnata, one of the premier travel service organizations in the Middle East. Dnata has over 6,500 employees who take care of cargo, ramp, technical, and passenger services at Dubai International Airport.
Dnata, Emirates SkyCargo, and Emirates Airlines are all subsidiaries of The Emirates Group, an international public holding company also with headquarters in Dubai. The airline currently employs about 35,000 staff.

Are Late Deal Package Holidays A Good Idea
For a lot of people the idea of leaving their vacation arrangements to the eleventh hour would be to stressful. Whether it is their principal annual vacation or a short break away many people like to have everything sorted. They like to know that all the necessary arrangements have been made in beforehand and things should go smoothly. In many respects there are a lot of benefits in being conscious that you are all booked and have a holiday to look ahead to.
For some looking for a late offer or deal is the only way to make travel affordable to them. For other individuals they just relish the escapade of getting a cheap flight ticket to anywhere and seeing what happens when they arrive there.
Whether you like to book early or last minute comes down to more than just a personal selection. For people with families it is not always an acceptable idea to reserve a holiday at the last minute as the choice of lodgings left could not be suitable for their needs. Generally most low-cost airline flights tend to be for flights in the middle of the week in each direction, this is not always suitable for time off work for some. You may be able to get a cheap flight to a specific location but can not get someplace to stay as there could be a big event or festival on when you get there. Unless you can book up a package deal where you get the flights and the accommodation for the one price this could not be such a great deal if you have to pay expensive room rates to a hotel because they are busy and they can get away with doing it.
The best times to get a last minute package holiday are when the schools are not off or when there are no holiday dates. It is amazing how people can stretch a holiday Monday into a workweek off using time reclaimed or overtime. So make sure you avoid away from busy dates and keep checking the late deal prices to make sure you get the optimal deal. Once the vacation firms have sold enough seats there is a good chance the prices will then begin to rise.
When you do discover your late offer make sure you determine the final price has any extras included such as airport tax, security charges or ticket on departure charges. Before you book make sure your passport is valid for the trip and you have selected a destination where if you need a visa you have enough time to obtain it.
Late deal package holidays can get you some bargain sun prices if you know where to look, find out more with Angela Maithers of Aberdeen flights

Flights to Bangkok
All flights to Bangkok from the UK are out of London Heathrow. British Airways and Quantas offer Bangkok flights, as well as flights to Singapore and Hong Kong, as one of its stopping points on the “kangaroo route” to Australia. Also try Thai Airways and Taiwanese carrier, Eva Airways.Cheap flights to Bangkok are easy to find thanks to healthy competition for this route.
The new Bangkok International Suvarnabhui Airport (BKK) is now open offering the largest enclosed terminal building in the world, a sign that Thailand is keeping up with major destinations in the region. Each airport is less than’ miles from Bangkok, and you can get there by taxi, hired car, or bus.Bangkok has two airports. The Don Muang Airport (DMK) was one of the busiest in south-east Asia.
The best time to visit Bangkok is during the busy season which is during November to March, but you will have to shell out more money to enjoy the experience. Weather conditions are perfect at this time of the year and you will surely have a comfortable stay. The only rider is that you will have to spend almost double charges on flights and hotel accommodation as compared to lean season. During lean season, rates are quite less, but the weather is not conducive as it rains during that time making the weather hot and humid. There is rainfall in this area between June to October.
None of this has stopped Bangkok from luring travelers from all over the world. It offers overwhelming choices in shopping, ancient culture and legendary night life.
World-class nighttime entertainment is a stroll away and shoppers can find everything from antiques to designer clothing. Thailand’s culture center since the’th century, Bangkok is also the country’s bustling capital. Peaceful Thai villages nestle among glass buildings and stylish restaurants.
You also have the option of taking the BTS sky train, subway, bus or river taxi. Drivers are aggressive in Bangkok, so if you want the convenience of your own car, hire a car and driver for the day.Getting around Bangkok on foot is an option, but it is slow. Tuk-tuks and cabs are inexpensive and almost always faster than walking.
Tuk-tuk fares are negotiated, so never got into one until the fare has been decided. Drivers are known to claim that the attraction you’re looking for is closed, and to steer you to special shopping excursions instead. They may offer to take you to a friend’s shop for free. You should know that such trips are scams, in which the driver receives some of the money you would spend buying overpriced gewgaws.
Some points of interest in Bangkok:The National Museum gives you a great opportunity to learn the history of Thailand. The Grand Palace, one of Bangkok’s most famous attractions, is the major architectural symbol of the Thai Royal Family and is still used for ceremonies.
The Reclining Buddha, a huge structure of 157 feet long and 49 feet high, stays at Wat Pho, Bangkok’s most eminent, oldest and largest temple. The Buddha is laminated in gold and decorated with nacre that covers the soles of its feet. There is every night at Joe Luis Theater an exclusive presentation of puppets. The puppeteers are skilled dancers, also participating on stage, playing an important component of the show.

Neat Travel Accessories That Will Make Your Holidays And Vacations Easier
Whether you travel using air flights, luxury cruises, trains, buses, or rental cars on your vacations and holidays, you are probably curious and want to know what’s new and cool in vacation and holiday travel accessories.
If you would like to find out about some of the travel accessories that are available to make your trip more comfortable, easier, and safer, here are some great products. These items should be available at any luggage and travel accessories stores.
What are compression bags and can they save a lot of space in your travel luggage?
If you use space saving clear plastic compression bags when packing your clothes, you can save up to a whopping 80% more space in your luggage. They can be used over and over again for many years of very easy packing.
How does a non-slip security wallet work?
One accessory you should consider buying is the non-slip security travel wallet. It is about the same size as a regular wallet but it has non-slip rubber on one side which will rub against and catch on the inside of your pocket if it accidentally slips out of your pocket, or if someone tries to pick your pocket. Always put your wallet in your front pocket. Under no circumstances should you ever carry your wallet in your back pocket. Professional thieves the world over call it “the sucker pocket”.
Here’s a neat trick! You can convert your wallet into a non-slip one by putting a few wide rubber bands around it. Another solution that will help with the pickpocket problem is a chain-equipped travel wallet which you can attach to your belt.
The secret waist wallet is a wallet which can compliment a non-slip travel wallet. It fits under your shirt or blouse, but it’s still easily accessible. It is not a good idea to lift up your shirt or blouse to open this wallet in public as you can never be sure who is watching, like a possible pickpocket, or robber. It’s best to open it discretely where no one can see what your doing, like in a public washroom stall.
A leather money belt that has a zippered, concealed pocket on the inner side of it, is a great security travel product. You can hide a key, paper money, or small foldable documents in the secure, zippered pocket.
Elastic security socks have a concealed, zippered type pocket on the inside of each one of a pair of these socks. These socks would be difficult for a pickpocket to access.
Another unique accessory is the RFID blocking passport holder. This radio frequency identification holder protects your passport, and other important documents that could be compromised by data-stealing hackers.
A unique combination and key accessible combo luggage lock makes it possible for a custom’s official to unlock your checked luggage for inspection by using a special skeleton key, then lock your luggage up again. You can then dial the combination and open your luggage when you arrive at your destination. This can save you a lot of time and money replacing regular locks that custom’s agents would usually have to break to gain entry to check your luggage. Another plus with combo locks is that you don’t have any keys to worry about replacing or losing.
You can carry a personal, battery-operated security alarm that emits a loud, piercing sound that may help ward off a robber or mugger. Another product that is inexpensive and that will produce the same effect is a referee’s whistle, which you can hide under your shirt or blouse, attached to a string and hung around your neck.
A battery-operated hotel room intruder alarm is a great hotel room safety device. There are two types of these alarms. One alarm hangs on the room’s door knob. Any slight movement of the door knob or door will trigger the alarm. Another alarm is the doorstop kind which you can push under the door’s bottom edge. If someone tries to open the door, the alarm will go off.
For women travelers, they can get an innovative security purse that has a steel cable sewn right into the strap. This will stop a thief who tries to cut through the strap and take off with their purse.
Easy is the word for the pocket pillow that is approximately 6″ x 4″ x 1″. It inflates to about 19″ x 15″, and is handy to carry with you. It makes a comfortable pillow to rest your head upon.
You should always make sure that you protect your eyes when on vacation in sunny climates by wearing sunglasses that carry both a UVA as well as a UVB certified protection label..
A handy little book light that clamps on to the edge of your book enables you to conveniently read in dim light or total darkness. It also allows you to read in the dark without disturbing your sleeping travel companion.
If you prefer wearing backpack you should check out a steel-mesh equipped backpack. These backpacks have steel mesh sewn into the sides and bottom, the most vulnerable places where a thief can slash it with a knife. When this happens, everything tumbles out, and the thief and his cohorts will grab anything of valuable and run in different directions.
Keep in mind that if you are traveling to certain countries you will probably need adaptor plugs and converters.
One of the largest travel accessory stores, Magellan’s, has an award-winning catalogue that has everything for travelers from connector and adaptor plugs to secret security wallets. You can order their complete line of products catalogue online, at Magellans.com
Tilley Endurables is a legendary manufacturer of sun-protective travel clothing and accessories. They created the world renowned Tilley Hat and specialize in making practical, stylish and comfortable travel clothing and outdoor hats. Lost Luggage – You Can Reduce The Risk On A Holiday Flight
Whether you take air flights for business, or holidays and vacations, you have probably lost luggage or know of a person that has. Here are some travel tips that may help you prevent this happening.
It is estimated that more than a million bags are lost by commercial airlines each year in the United States alone. How much luggage that get lost in the whole world is anybody’s guess. Here are some tips that may help you recover your bags if they are ever lost.
You should attach two or three tags with your name, home address, and phone number to the handle and zipper-pulls of each bag that you are checking. There is less of a chance that all of your tags will get torn off in transit. Make sure that you have removed any old airline tracking tags that are still attached to your luggage as they could confuse the baggage handlers.
Also, be sure to place the same contact information, including a copy of your itinerary and destination address inside all of your bags. That way, if they do go astray and are found in time, it is possible that they could be forwarded to your hotel.
If you can, pick luggage with preferably a bright or odd color that will stand out from all of the black and brown bags. Know the brand name of the luggage that you own and attach a colorful scarf or ribbon to the handle to make identification easier. Stick a few decals or a contrasting colored tape to all of the sides of the bags so they can be easier to see as it goes around the carousel. Remember these details, or even better, take a digital picture of your luggage just before you leave and bring it with you. This will also help the lost luggage airport staff in finding your bags if they become lost in transit and turn up at their office. It will also help if you have to make a claim.
It helps to make a list of what you have in your luggage and carry that list in you carry-on bag. The chance of your luggage getting lost in transit increases dramatically when you have connecting, or delayed flights. Always pack all of your valuables, including your laptop or Blackberry, travel documents, prescriptions, etc., in your carry-on bag. It makes sense to pack only the things you can afford to lose in your checked baggage. Most analysts believe that the airline industry’s problem of lost luggage is not going to be resolved anytime soon.
What should you do if the airlines lose your luggage?
Go right away to the baggage claim office and file a claim. Many airlines have a twenty-four hour window of time that starts from when your flight arrives to file and be eligible for compensation. You will get a claim receipt to check the tracking of your luggage with your airline by phone, or on the airline’s website. Make sure you keep your flight documents until the lost luggage mix up has been resolved.
How can you guarantee that the airlines will not lose your luggage?
There are some companies like FedEx, UPS or DHL, that can send your luggage in the U.S. directly to your hotel or street address for a very reasonable cost. If you’re staying at a hotel, your luggage will be taken to your room by a bellboy. When you consider that in the United States alone, over a million bags are lost by the airlines each year, this service is well worth considering. If you are planning to travel by air throughout Europe, FirstLuggage.com, provides a similar service.

Is an Airline Credit Card Right for You?
There’s an old adage among the people who invest their money in the stock market. Depending on who you talk to, it will sound quite different but it goes something like this: “Never trust airlines and ______” the last word depends on the specific investor. Many people say autos. Others say the movies but nearly all of them will mention airlines.
What does this have to do with airline credit cards? You’ll find out but first, let’s take a look at what an airline credit card is. With the large and diverse offerings of credit cards, one can find a card with just about any perk imaginable but the airline credit card was one of the first rewards-style cards on the market.
These cards give you rewards points for your purchases in the form of discounts on airline tickets. Some card issuers will give you frequent flyer miles for the airline of your choice while others, will give you a gift certificate (or card) or even offer to book your flight for you.
Sometimes your new airline credit card will give you access to the airline lounge that you see inside of the airport. Often these lounges have comfortable seating, internet access, and many other amenities that make your travel experience more enjoyable. Additionally, you will qualify for discounted rates at participating hotel chains, rental car companies, and restaurants.
Just like most other credit cards, the better your credit rating, the better your card interest rate will be. So remember that each time you pay your electric bill on time, it may earn you a lower interest rate on your next credit card. If you do your homework, you are sure to find a credit card that will give you bonus points just for activating the card. With very little research, you can find 5,000 or more bonus points being offered for new card holders.
Do you want rewards for airline miles or dollars? Some cards will offer you rewards for the mileage you travel. Similar to air miles or other airline rewards, if you travel long distances, this will often be the best option for you. The other option is to be rewarded for each dollar you charge to your credit card. This is similar to how most reward cards work.
When you pick a rewards card, it is important to do proper research and think about which card is right for you. If you don’t usually do a lot of traveling, a more general rewards card from one of the major credit card companies may be more advantageous to you.
Never invest in airlines, right? Here’s why it might be important to you. Some experts advise never applying for a rewards card that is tied solely to frequent flyer miles with one airline. This is because most of the airlines always seem to be only a few days away from going bankrupt. Additionally, changes or total elimination of the frequent flyer programs could leave you without any rewards in your account.
Instead, look at the rewards cards that come from the well known credit card companies who have a huge selection of travel rewards. By doing this, you’re almost sure to have those rewards points always available to you.
Make travel affordable with these airline credit cards. Or if you prefer to just get cash back on credit card purchases, these cashback credit cards are a great option too.
