Ko Chang, part of the Trat Province, is about 330 km from Bangkok and is Thailand’s second largest island and the largest in Ko Chang National Park. Tourism in Ko Chang has increased dramatically just in the last few years.

Bangkok Airways departs two times a day from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) to Trat. Due to competition, one can travel to Bangkok at a low cost. The flights traveling from UK to Bangkok depart from London Heathrow. Further, the airline industries of British Airways and Quantas have flights to Bangkok, Singapore, and Hong Kong, as a stopping point on the “kangaroo route” to Australia. In addition, one can give Thai Airways a try as well as the Taiwanese carrier, better known as Eva Airways.

Direct door-to-door mimibus transfers will get you from Trat to Ko Chang and fares include the ferry crossing. Ko Chang has three seasons including the cool season from November to February, the hot season from March to May and the rainy season from June to October. In general the climate is hot and humid with lots of rainfall, 4,000 mm per year.

Getting around Ko Chang is simple using the songthaew, public taxis, hired small motorcycles or cars. The atmosphere is laid back so many visitors pick a beach and walk wherever they want to go.

Ko Chang’s recent growth as a tourist destination is due in large part to its proximity to Bangkok, just 5 hours away. It has become a favorite for Bangkok families on holiday. The island is home to a variety of wildlife including birds, snakes, deer and elephants and offers ideal spots for snorkeling, diving and jungle hiking.

The Mu Ko Chang National Park consists of 47 islands including Ko Chang, the best known. You can walk with a ranger on an 8 hour tour from the Than Mayom Waterfall to the Khlong-Plu Waterfall or camp in the jungle overnight. For luxury treatment, the Aiyapura Resort and Spa offers Thai villas surrounded by tropical gardens and ocean views.

The best beaches are located on the west coast and they offer the finest accommodations as well as night life, Sai Khao and the White Sand Beach is the most popular on Ko Chang. There are beach bars, jazz clubs and night club that offer entertainment. You can stay in the thatched huts or wooden bungalows for a natural experience. You also have the option of luxury suits that offer air conditioning, televisions and pools.

Klong Prao Beach has a steeper, sandy beach with a beautiful rocky landscape in its northernmost area.Kai Bae Beach is similar to Klong Prao. You can hire canoes and kayaks, and there are plenty of dive shops. Bang Bao Beach is a fishing village built on stilts. Hire a boat and fish or snorkel to view the rich coral life.

On Khlong Prao, Chang Chutman offer half-hour and hour-long elephant safaris into the interior. You can also go on foot, preferably with a local guide. Start at the southern end of the island.

One of the attractions that you might want to consider wile in Ko Change, is stopping at the Monkey Training Center. Not only can you watch training but you the center offers shows which highlight the monkeys abilities.

Malayan Airways Limited, which was incorporated by Imperial Airways, Liverpools Ocean Steamship Company and Singapores Strait Steamship Company. Over the next couples of decades the company had really grown. However due to political discrepancies in’72, Singapore Airlines was founded.

Krabi Province, on the west coast of Southern Thailand, is similar to other Thai holiday destinations offering beautiful beaches and major tourist centers designed to cater to its 2 million foreign visitors.

There are a lot of flights going to Krabi begining from Bangkok through various airlines such as Thai Airways (flights include from Uk to Bangkok), Bangkok Airways, Nok Air, Firefly and Air Asia. The Krabi International Airport is only 15 km far from the city, 40 km towards Ao Nang and 23 km far from the popular beaches Had Yo.

Taxi and hired car are also affordable options. Krabi is hot and humid all year round, with the hottest usually in April. Many hotels, bars and ferries close during the rainy season during the fall. High season spans from November through April peaking during Christmas and New Years. The local Songthaew, public passenger pick-up vehicles, offer convenient transport to various local tourist attractions.

Krabi’s most unique feature, Phang Nga, a massive limestone karsts, rises high and steep from the flat rice paddies. Krabi’s natural coastal attractions never fail to impress tourists. Beaches are white and sandy with clear water, fascinating coral reefs, caves and waterfalls. Numerous islands are also available to explore.

When you go to Krabi, you can find a variety of things to do and places to stay. This is the most developed beach in Ao Nang. You won’t go hungry either, there is a great selection of restaurants as well as places to stay.

Rai Leh is known for its rock climbing and several smaller beaches. Ton Sai offers the most affordable bungalows in the area. It is preferred by hikers and backpackers due to the lack due to the lack of tourists and the easy walk to Rai Leh.

Four surrounding islands, Ko Jum, Ko Lanta, Ko Phi Phi and Ko Siboya offer quieter escapes for travelers seeking solitude.Had Yo is the last untouched beach in the Krabi province. It offers spectacular views of Jum Mountian and Ao Nang’s cliff walls.

Krabi is more than beaches and islands, however. Take a look at some of the other local attractions’ Krabi Town, the provincial capital, has memorable landscape featuring the prominent landmark Khao Khanap Nam. Created by two hills approximately 100 meters high that flank the Krabi River running between them, Kho Khanap Nam offers distinctive vistas accessible by a 15 minute long-tail boat ride from Chao Fa Pier. Visitors can canoe in the mangrove or a stroll to dinner at the night bazaar. Find authentic cuisine at Chao Fa Pier and the bazaar on Maha Road.

Pra Nang Beach (Princess Cave Beach) is less about sandy beaches and more about the area’s limestone scenery. A fascinating network of cave systems is home to the Pra Nang Beach considered to be the most beautiful beach in the world. The huge cave is believed by fishermen to be the home of a mythical sea princes. You can get to the Princess Cave Beach by boat or by foot.

Tiger Cave Temple is a religious site for the monks who live and worship there and features a maze of natural caves in a jungle valley. Stone tools, ancient pottery fragments and the mold for making Buddha footprints have been excavated there.

All flights to Bangkok from the UK are out of London Heathrow. British Airways and Quantas offer Bangkok flights, as well as flights to Singapore and Hong Kong, as one of its stopping points on the “kangaroo route” to Australia. Also try Thai Airways and Taiwanese carrier, Eva Airways.Cheap flights to Bangkok are easy to find thanks to healthy competition for this route.

The new Bangkok International Suvarnabhui Airport (BKK) is now open offering the largest enclosed terminal building in the world, a sign that Thailand is keeping up with major destinations in the region. Each airport is less than’ miles from Bangkok, and you can get there by taxi, hired car, or bus.Bangkok has two airports. The Don Muang Airport (DMK) was one of the busiest in south-east Asia.

The best time to visit Bangkok is during the busy season which is during November to March, but you will have to shell out more money to enjoy the experience. Weather conditions are perfect at this time of the year and you will surely have a comfortable stay. The only rider is that you will have to spend almost double charges on flights and hotel accommodation as compared to lean season. During lean season, rates are quite less, but the weather is not conducive as it rains during that time making the weather hot and humid. There is rainfall in this area between June to October.

None of this has stopped Bangkok from luring travelers from all over the world. It offers overwhelming choices in shopping, ancient culture and legendary night life.

World-class nighttime entertainment is a stroll away and shoppers can find everything from antiques to designer clothing. Thailand’s culture center since the’th century, Bangkok is also the country’s bustling capital. Peaceful Thai villages nestle among glass buildings and stylish restaurants.

You also have the option of taking the BTS sky train, subway, bus or river taxi. Drivers are aggressive in Bangkok, so if you want the convenience of your own car, hire a car and driver for the day.Getting around Bangkok on foot is an option, but it is slow. Tuk-tuks and cabs are inexpensive and almost always faster than walking.

Tuk-tuk fares are negotiated, so never got into one until the fare has been decided. Drivers are known to claim that the attraction you’re looking for is closed, and to steer you to special shopping excursions instead. They may offer to take you to a friend’s shop for free. You should know that such trips are scams, in which the driver receives some of the money you would spend buying overpriced gewgaws.

Some points of interest in Bangkok:The National Museum gives you a great opportunity to learn the history of Thailand. The Grand Palace, one of Bangkok’s most famous attractions, is the major architectural symbol of the Thai Royal Family and is still used for ceremonies.

The Reclining Buddha, a huge structure of 157 feet long and 49 feet high, stays at Wat Pho, Bangkok’s most eminent, oldest and largest temple. The Buddha is laminated in gold and decorated with nacre that covers the soles of its feet. There is every night at Joe Luis Theater an exclusive presentation of puppets. The puppeteers are skilled dancers, also participating on stage, playing an important component of the show.

Each year Pattaya receives more than five million visitors. It became a well-liked place for vacation and has continued to stand as such. You can get on Bangkok Airlines and get connected from the UK to Pattaya’s U-Tapao Airport via Phuket. Or you better just trip to Bangkok, from there you get many options to fly into Phucket, which is only 150 kms away from Pattaya, so it is much easier if you arrive to it by road.

There are several options that you have to get in and out of Pattaya, some are easier and a little more convenient, some offer limited times and flights. You will find that if you want the quickest and most reliable way going door to door is your best option, and it will only take about 30 minutes. If you fly into U-Tapao, you will be in a place that serves as a military base.

Pattaya recently updated its image to be more family oriented. It had been most famous for its go-go and beer bars. Now it attracts a large number of Thai, North and South Asian tourist that are vacationing with their families. Visitors will find a selection of Beaches, golf, horseback, bungee jumping and shooting.

Getting around Pattaya offers its own options. The songthaew, public passenger pick-up vehicles, also called Baht Busses, are available throughout Pattaya. You may also choose the local bus, motorbike taxi, or meter taxi. If you wish to brave the erratic (by Western standards) traffic, you can hire a car, motorbike or scooter.

Pattaya sees the most visitors around Christmas and New Year’s, when visitors want to go somewhere sunny and warm. Several of Pattaya’s beaches are very popular, such as Pattaya Beach near the city center. Pattaya Beach has many stores, hotels, and nightspots nearby. Many jetskis, powerboats, and deckchairs are available for rent in the area.

Jomtein Beach is south of the city and a more popular spot for families. Away from the beach, you can visit the Pattaya Park entertainment complex offering a water park, roller coaster, monorail and children’s activities.

Pattaya is home to wonderful islands and spectacular beaches. To the north of Pattaya are the Near Islands, whereas the western side is home to Far Islands. If you wish to visit Ko Lan or Coral Island, you will need a ferry service or a speedboat to reach them.

The North Pattaya Fishing Park provides rod and bait, serves refreshments and has live music after dark.Fishing is a popular diversion. Deep sea fishing excursions often include breakfast, lunch and a stop at one of the island beaches for swimming.

How could we overlook gold as being one of the islands specialties. With more than 20 courses within an hours drive of Pattaya all designed by some of golf’s most famous names it is no wonder so many golf lovers flock to the area. One of the finest golf courses in the area is the International Country club, it is in fact ranked third of Thailand’s top courses.

The Underwater World aquarium gives visitors an opportunity to get close up views of the marine life that is indigenous to the Gulf of Thailand. A pedestrian tunnel made of acrylic gives a visitor a’0 degree view of sharks, stingrays, turtles, and uncommon angel fish.

Mango is in great demand as it is the latest low cost airline in South Africa. It faces heavy competition from some of the established airlines such as 1time and kulula air which are also under the category of low-fare airlines.

Mango is owned by South African Airways, and this is sometimes a point of contention among air travelers and competing airlines. Tired of losing market share to the other low cost carriers, SAA launched Mango offering starting prices for seats that were almost half that of its competition, sparking problems on two fronts.

According to Mango’s reports, 15,000 booking requests were made in the first 10 minutes after the website went live.First, its website, its major base of operations, crashed as eager would-be customers overwhelmed the site to take advantage of the cut rate price.

The airline then faced criticism from rival airlines that were quick to point out that as a subsidiary of SAA, a public governmental company funded by taxpayer dollars, Mango could afford to slash its rates. This led to outcries of unfair trading practices.

In spite of its less-than-stellar beginning, Mango is already reporting healthy profits.

The current routes include: Johannesburg to Cape Town, Cape Town to Johannesburg, Cape Town to Durban, Durban to Cape Town, Bloemfontein to Cape Town and Cape Town to Bloemfontein.

Mango offers some attractive fares called cool-off flights in which passengers pay only R175 (one-way, all inclusive) to fly to Durban or Johannesburg. Available only via its website, vouchers are not acceptable for this special.

The mango fleet is very safe as it is made up of Boeing B737-800. It can carry’6 guests in leather seats and the seats are arranged in two rows of three seats on either side. Travelers are informed about their seating arrangements after they check in and they can also choose the in-flight food service.

If your child is between the ages of 7 days and 24 months, they may ride on the lap of an adult. If your child is over 24 months at the time of their flight back you must get another ticket for that return flight.

Mango also offers accommodations for handicapped or impaired travelers, providing access for several types of wheelchairs. These passengers and those with small children will not be asked to sit in emergency exit rows.

Mango doesn’t allow pets in the cabins on any of its flights. There is the option of transporting your pet in the pressurized cargo hold, but this is subject to availability .

For added flexibility for this group, Mango Plus tickets provide access to a business class lounge, 10 kg extra luggage and vouchers for meals. Customers may choose to pay for tickets by credit card, by Edgars account (adds approximately R40), cash, voucher, or POLi – internet banking and debit cards.Mango offers Mango Flex tickets which allow ticket holders to change the date, time and destinations of their tickets. These features apply to travel during the week, not weekend flights. Business travelers are the main participants in this program.

Mango has partnered with several other companies to offer additional discounts and conveniences. Tempest SIXT, a low-cost car hire company, offers deeper discounts for Mango customers. A partnership with Edcon gives Mango customers the option to use store credit cards to pay for their tickets. And Vodacom credit card holders can save up to 25 percent when they purchase Mango tickets on their Voadacom card.

Virgin Airlines operates long haul routes between the UK and North America, Africa, the Caribbean, Australia, Asia, and the Middle East from its main bases at London Heathrow and London Gatwick and a secondary base at Manchester Airport, a leader in the industry, Virgin Airlines is known for its brashly British attitude. Owned by Richard Branson’s Virgin Group and Singapore Airlines.

Virgin Atlantic serves about 30 destinations worldwide with its fleet of more than 35 aircraft. It further extends its network through code-sharing relationships (agreements that allow airlines to sell tickets on each other’s flights) with other airlines including Air China, Continental Airlines, Singapore Airlines, and Australia-based sister company Virgin Blue.

Plans for two routes, one from London to the Falkland Islands in the aftermath of the Falkland War, and the other from London Gatwick to JFK Airport, were either scrapped or rejected. Plans were in the works for a route between London Gatwick and Newark Liberty International Airport, when it became necessary for the company to secure additional funding.Virgin Atlantic and its sister companies got their start in’82 when American Randolph Fields teamed up with pilot Alan Hellary to launch British Atlantic Airways.

Fields and Branson finalized a deal (Fields was eventually bought out) in contentious negotiations, and the airline, now renamed Virgin Atlantic, operated its first flight between London and Newark in June of’84. Thanks to financing from sister company Virgin Records and smart timing (the airline’s first flights took advantage of the summer travel season) the company posted a profit in its first year of operation.

Virgin Atlantic and British Airways have been rivals since the company’s inception. The competition became even more intense when the UK government began allowing Virgin Atlantic to operate from London Heathrow airport in January’91. This move led to BA’s so-called “dirty tricks” campaign against Virgin Atlantic which included libel lawsuits, and an out-of-court settlement on BA’s part after lawyers found evidence of the extraordinary efforts BA was taking to “kill off” Virgin Atlantic.

Some examples: Mine’s Bigger Than Yours – painted on the back of the Airbus A340-600s because they are the longest passenger aircraft in the world. Virgin has never been shy about taking on its competition through its advertising.

Also promoted Virgins online check-in literally allowing passengers to avoid the queues, avoid the Q – Advertised Virgin’s London to Hong Kong to Sydney route in opposition to Quantas which was operating the same route.

Branson vehemently asserts his displeasure with a potential British Airways/American Airlines partnership. Presently, Virgin Atlantic has three cabin classes. These classes include upper class, premium economy and economy. The upper class would be comparable to what most people know as a business class as cabin service is not provided. Unlike most airlines’ business class, the seating in Virgin Atlantic’s upper class boasts to be the largest flat bed.

Premium Economy passengers have a separate check-in and receive priority boarding ahead of Economy passengers. These seats are wider and provide more legroom than Economy accommodations. Most aircraft have been updated to include Premium Economy seating with laptop power. In Economy class, in-flight drinks are free, and an updated Economy seat with adjustable lumbar support has recently been added across the fleet.

All Virgin Atlantic aircraft offer personal televisions mounted in the seat backs. Some aircraft have audio/video on demand systems.Virgin Atlantic’s sister airlines include: Virgin America, Virgin Blue, Virgin Express, Virgin Galactic, Virgin Nigeria Airways, Virgin Atlantic Global Flyer and V Australia.
