An introduction to Ibiza’s nightlife
Ibiza’s nightlife is legendary. It’s been immortalised on the silver screen in films like Kevin & Perry Go Large (2000), Welcome 2 Ibiza (2003) and It’s All Gone Pete Tongue (2004), as well as on TV shows like Ibiza Uncovered (1998-). Those depictions aren’t always accurate by any means, but they do give some sense of the clubbing-fuelled hedonism of this sun-kissed Balearic paradise.
An average day for a pleasure-seeking visitor in Ibiza will probably involve a few hours lounging around at a beach bar, grabbing some food and then drifting into town to have some drinks, make some friends and start getting your groove on. From there, Ibiza’s world-class clubs beckon.
Amnesia, the first major outdoor club in Ibiza, should definitely be on your itinerary. It was named Best Global Club at the International Dance Music Awards in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2011. The other major clubs in Ibiza include DC10 (where you can rave in a former aircraft hangar), Eden (where Judge Jules plays every Sunday), Es Paradis (on the waterfront in San Antonio), Pacha (a must for fans of house), Privilege (the largest nightclub in existence), and Space (where you can dance under the planes flying into the island). Ibiza is also home to stacks of smaller venues. The music played from night to night varies in line with the promoters that are running the events.
There are also plenty of bars within Ibiza’s numerous resorts. These venues are something of a sanctuary from the massive sound systems, smoke machines and lasers that will provide the backdrop to your nocturnal adventures. Usually, these venues don’t charge an entry fee, and they offer great deals on drinks.
Another pillar of Ibiza’s party scene is the so-called ‘sunset strip’ – a series of cafes located along the Calo des Moro in San Antonio. You can’t visit the island without heading there and experiencing the laid-back bliss of watching the fading pink-hued glow of the sun over the Mediterranean. If you meet someone special, this is the place to make your move!

Nightclubs are usually open on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. The cover charges can range anywhere from $7 to $25 and all clubs are adamant on the proper ID to enter.
Family: On McLachlan Street, Fortitude Valley, is home to one of Brisbane’s best nightclubs. Family is a four level nightclub that thrills dance fans with two dance floors, four bars, four outstanding themed booths and top of the line sound system. Many elite DJs from around the world has visited this nightclub, including the Stafford Brothers and Baby Gee.
Monastery: If you head to Ann Street, in Fortitude Valley, you can visit the newly refurbished Monastery nightclub. Inside it has an iconic plush design, Gothic lighting, and articulate soundscapes. It truly is like a Monastery once you step inside!

From 8pm to 10pm you can catch some of the city’s upcoming live bands, and then DJs play funky house and electro into the early hours. If you prefer a bit of retro of Top of The Pops era then the best time to go is weekend nights.
Uber, Boundary Street, WestEnd: This is Brisbane’s latest club.Uber is cool indeed and has very stylish decor and patrons to match. It is a bit over the top decadent like an old style boutique hotel with brushed steel and polished dark wood. The music varies but weekends are dedicated to pure main room House music. The best thing about the plush cocktail bar is the balcony as it is perched in prime viewing position over the comings and goings of the heart of the West End.
Beat MegaClub, Ann Street, and Fortitude Valley: This club has five dance floors, six bars and hardcore techno music making it the perfect place for dance fans. It is very popular with gay and lesbian crowd and has regular drag performances but Beat is welcoming to all.

The 6 Most Popular Holiday Destinations in Turkey
Turkey has everything you need for a great summer vacation. The sun normally shines the whole day, and the beaches are perfect for relaxing. The nightlife doesnt stop until the morning, and the Turkeys kitchen is nominated as the third best in the world.
If you are the relaxing type, you can spend the whole day at one of the many great beaches. Here you can play beach volleyball or try one of the many water activities like: parasailing, jet skiing or the banana boat.
If you like to be active in your holiday, you can trek in the mountains or do some mountain- or ravine climbing. If water is more your element, Turkey does also has a lot of places for diving, sea kayaking and rafting.
10 % of all tourists in Turkey stays in Alanya. And the reason is probably the great combination of beaches and sights. The most interesting sight is the castle hill 250 meter (820 feet) above the sea. From the top you can see how the hill divides the two beaches. There is also a great view of Alanya and the surrounding country.
The Water Planet Aquapark is one of Turkeys largest water parks; and a great place for kids. Here they can try everything from water slides and rafting to bungee jumping and crazy golf. After some branded goods shopping (both real and fake) in Alanya, you can finish your day in the many discos and bars.
Antalya is a little different than the other holiday destinations. The city is not the typical fisher village that has grown into a holiday village. The city has 500,000 residents, so here you see more locals than tourists. It also means that you get a better insight into the real Turkey.
In Alanya you will find a lot of shopping streets, centers and bazaars. But there are also a lot of great sights. In the old town Kaleici you will find a lot of traces of the Roman Empire. It is also a great place to see the typical Turkish everyday life, where old women prepare the dinner while the men play dominoes.
Belek is the number one golf destination in Turkey. In the area around the city there are eight golf courses; and many more are being built. It has been so popular to play golf in Belek that it can be necessary to book months ahead in the high season.
Belek is also a great destination even though you not play golf. The nature is fantastic and silence is incredible compared to the lively destinations like Side and Alanya. If you love bird, Belek will also seem like a paradise to you. And you can still find both shopping and water parks.
Kemer might have the most beautiful location in Turkey. Surrounded by the Mediterranean and the Taurus Mountains is this special place. The city does have a unique mix of the real Turkey and a modern holiday village. The city has an elegant marina, beautiful beach promenades and lively pedestrian streets.
For some sightseeing you can visit the ruins of Phaselis; the winter location for Alexander the Great. Another great place (especially for the kids) is the 55,000 m2 Moonlight Park in the middle of Kemer. Here you find a playground, restaurants, bars, discos; and even a dolphinarium
Like many other holiday destinations Kusadasi was originally a small fisher village. Today you find great Turkey food and a quieter nightlife with only a small bar street.
Kusadasi has an international feeling because of the many cruise ship guests in the city, which arrives to see the famous sight Efesos (also named Efesus). So expect a lot of smart cafes and shops with international clothing brands.
Side is probably the most romantic holiday destination in Turkey. In the old town you find many old Roman buildings. And if you walk a little away from the main street, it is possible to find quiet streets with well-preserved wood and stone houses. The city’s theater is certainly also worth a visit. In the old days there were gladiator fights; today you will find more peaceful concerts and theater.
When you get tired of all the culture and sight, you can dive into Sides wild nightlife. One of the most popular bars is located among the ruins of two old temples from the 2nd century. Side has two beaches; the lively and kid friendly western beach and the quieter east beach.
