When traveling around the country, trying to see all of the great natural and manmade wonders that the US has to offer, South Dakota and Mount Rushmore is certainly at the top of the list. While your choices are vast and the places to visit are varied, there is something special about seeing the sculpted faces of those great presidents staring down from the mountain. Along with certain monuments in Washington D.C. this is a US historic monument that should be visited if possible.
There are a few other man made objects that everyone should visit. The arch in St. Louis is one of those places that you should visit, along with the Empire State Building in New York and the Statue of Liberty. These places are all must sees, but there are some others.

SeaWorld, The Orlando Experience That Many Overlook

Orlando is known for many things. Among those things are great vacation spots like Disney World and all the parks that go with Disney, Islands of Adventure and Downtown Disney and all the local restaurants and golfing. In addition to all of these places, you have a park that can sometimes be overlooked. It is SeaWorld.
SeaWorld is made up of wonderful family entertainment, as well as wonderful educational experiences. There are many attractions and shows to take in on your visit to SeaWorld, and often times visitors find they need to return a second day just to fit everything in.
SeaWorld is owned and operated by the Busch family, the same people who run Busch Gardens. So you know what that means in terms of ride, it means that the rides are going to be spectacular and fun. They are known for their thrill rides and they have put a couple of great ones at SeaWorld. In addition to a cool roller coaster and an even cooler water roller coaster, the animal attractions are world class.
SeaWorld is perhaps most famous for their inhabitants. Many travel across the globe just to take in the killer whale show, starring the infamous Shamu and her family. Two of the more popular SeaWorld shows, in addition to Shamu, include the walrus and seal shows.
One of my personal favorite attractions at SeaWorld is the arctic expedition. There are polar bears that live in frigid waters in an exhibit that looks a lot like their native northern habitat. SeaWorld also gives you a glimpse of a rarely seen Narwhal, an animal that most people would never have a chance to see in the wild.
SeaWorld is a great experience for the whole family. You can purchase your tickets for this park alone, or get a pass that will also allow you to visit Busch Gardens. These passes are exceptionally priced and since Tampa is only a 45 minute drive from SeaWorld it will allow you to get out of the touristy Orlando and visit a place that is full of local Floridians. Most people don’t consider crossing the border to our north as traveling abroad, but even though Canada and the United States have many similarities, Canada does have things to offer the world traveler. Although most of the population of Canada lives within a hundred or so miles from the border with the US, there is a huge and vast country to explore.
Canada has everything from big, metropolitan cities, to small country towns and everything in between. About the only thing that you can’t find are tropical sandy beaches and good surfing spots. Probably the most famous site in the whole country is the Canadian side of Niagara Falls. For anyone who has never seen the Falls, it is quite a site. It has become a popular destination for Honeymoons in the past and has gotten a bad rap for being too touristy. Although it has been thought of that way in the past, it is really a sight to behold. It is a natural wonder that everyone should see.
There is more then the Falls, that adds to the natural beauty of the Falls. With the cattle and grazing lands, and the mountainous area that has the feel of the old west it is a perfect destination for those that love the outdoors and ruggedness. Although many tend to lean towards Florida, when they are going on an east coast vacation, there is much more to the east coast then this one state.
Lets move up from Florida and enter into Georgia. There is a lot to do in the “peachy” state and there is no lack of beaches. The city Atlanta has many local events, and have a sports team in football, basketball, hockey and baseball, therefore you can always catch some sort of a game no matter what season you are visiting. If you would rather visit a smaller city then be sure to check out the small town of Savannah.
North of Georgia is the Carolina’s. Both South Carolina and North Caroline has beautiful beaches and breath taking mountain scenery. There are many smaller and large cities depending on what your interests are. Right in between the two states is an area that is designed for travelers and families. This area is called South of the Border and has everything from little knick knack shops to restaurants, to amusement rides and accommodations. It is a fun time for all.

Picking out a great vacation for the family is not as easy as it sounds. There can be big differences in what everybody likes or wants to do. The wonderful thing about traveling is that there are no limits to the places that you can visit. You can take a trip to Ireland, visit the Great Wall of China or even spend some time in the Antarctic.
If you are in Australia, there are many cruises available that will provide you with a seven day trip to the Antarctic. It is seven days on the sea and then you will reach your destination. Once there you can travel across the ice and explore the camps of the early explorers of the Continent. This trip can be expensive, ranging anywhere from ten thousand to forty thousand dollars, but for those of you that are really interested in the destination it will be the trip of your lifetime.
There are only a few hundred people each year that get a chance to see the wonders of the eastern side of the Continent. No matter what you choose you are seeing and experiencign something that so few get a chance to experience and it will leave you with memoories and stories for your life and your childrens lives.
