Virginia tourism and vacations have been showing and upward swing, and some of this interest can be laid at the doorstep of renewed interest in U.S. history. Naturally, as Virginia is one of the oldest and most important of the original states, there is history galore.

Bicycling, hiking and camping can be enjoyed all year, and the Atlantic coast provides plenty of water sports.

Virginia literally drips with America’s history. While there you can spend days in Williamsburg, the restored Colonial capital. Don’t miss Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello, George Washington’s Mt. Vernon plantation, and the capital of both the Confederacy and Virginia, Richmond.

With 14 miles of open, public beaches (read free), Virginia Beach offers a variety of beaches to fit every mood. The freshly landscaped Virginia Beach resort area features live music, street performers, diverse festivals, as well as outdoor cafes and nightlife.

Williamsburg is a one-of-a-kind restored Colonial village that has been one of Virginia’s most treasured attractions for many years. Come back to the present to enjoy fine dining and modern accommodations in the historic triangle of Yorktown and Jamestown.
