The liaison continent medical insurance plan is a low-cost, simpler version of the Liaison Majestic plan. The liaison continent medical insurance plan offers a range of medical benefits for visitors to the United States and Canada, and for other international travel. It is especially suited for those who are looking to insure against the most common occurrences.
The plan benefits range from $50,000 to $1 million. The maximum plan period is six months, and anyone older than 14 days can avail of the plan. The plan can be renewed for up to six months, with the original date used for determining/ the coinsurance, deductible and pre-existing conditions.
You can choose from four plans under the Majestic Continental travel Insurance plan depending on whether you are traveling to the United States or Canada, or traveling outside these two countries. Your premium will depend on the plan, deductible, your age, and optional coverage chosen.
The liaison continent medical insurance plan covers the entire gamut of medical care: ambulance services, physician consulting charges, diagnostic test costs, inpatient or outpatient charges (as the case may be), critical care costs and coronary care costs. The plan also covers auxiliary services like physiotherapy and home health care, on the doctor’s recommendation/advice. If there is no hospital room in the area, the plan also covers hotel room charges.
Dental emergencies are covered if eligible according to the schedule of benefits. Emergency evacuation is also covered in the liaison continent insurance plan, along with the travel of a family member to accompany you. If a minor child is left unattended due to your hospitalization, his/her travel home is insured. The plan includes accidental death and dismemberment,and the repatriation of remains in case of your demise.
The plan follows the plan holder through incidental trips to the home country, and covers treatment for conditions first diagnosed when traveling abroad. Lost baggage is covered up to $250, and if the trip is interrupted due to the death of a family member or substantial damage to the primary residence of the insured, the liaison continent medical insurance Plan reimburses the cost of the ticket to travel home.
Insurance benefits are void for previously existing conditions. However, the plan covers pre-existing conditions for U.S. residents, for up to $20,000. Extra coverage for hazardous sports such as hang gliding and bungee jumping can be purchased on payment of an extra premium.
The liaison continent medical insurance plan is part of the Hygeia Network in the United States, and A.M. Best Company rates the plan “A”. The plan administrators are Seven Corners, Inc., and the plan underwriters, Certain Underwriters at Lloyd’s, London.
